Outstandingly
beautiful is the position of this semi-dettached farmhouse (bricks, about
a hundred years old) with a 5000 square meter garden. The property has
been partly restored by a German couple of physicians who regrettingly
resell because their career in Germany does not give them enough time to
use it as often as they initially expected.
The house settles
on a hill high above the Metauro valley with spectacular views over historical
fortress villages and a breathtaking landscape right to the Adriatic sea.
Although the surroundings are absolutely quiet in the middle of fields,
meadows and old oak trees, it is only 2 kilometres away from the
charming pottery village of FRATTE ROSA.
The first floor is
completely restored with the typical kitchen/lounge combination and fireplace,
two further rooms and a bath. The ground floor consists of a large restored
room with access to the garden. The former wine cellar and an ajacent room
are not ready yet, but can be easily transformed into further living space,
for instance: a kitchen, utility rooms, a second bathroom and an interior
staircase. So far the two floors are connected by a characteristic external
stone staircase with a little terrace on top.
This property is
a real bargain, ready-to-use and ideal as a holiday home . The ground floor
correspondingly restaured could very well be used as a scond apartment
and rented out to friends and tourists. The house-garden (appr 1.200 sqm)
is large enopugh for a pool (yet to be built) and can be a lovely mediterranian
garden with view to the mountains .
The other
building next to it has been meticulously restored with antique materials
belongs to a very nice Italian couple of teachers and is used as
a weekend residence only.
Both
buildings are
part of the pretty village of FRATTE ROSA which dates back to the 9th century
towering the impressive landscape in 419 metres above sea level. Because
of its strategically important position this fortress village which is
still surrounded by its original city wall has always been of special interest
to the various noble families of Le Marche and consequently a very
special flair. The biggest attraction of this very special place are the
various potteries, in the old times supplying houshold accessories, nowadays
producing high-class arts and crafts.
Traffic links and
connections: There are lots of possibilities for those seeking contact
with the locals drinking a glass of good wine. Fratte Rosa has two nice
restaurants and offers quite a few theatre-, costume and summer festivals.
The villages Sant`Ippolito (specialized in the art of stone masons and
sculpture and thereby closely related) and Barchi with one of the most
important vineyards of the area (producer of excellent BIANCHELLO white
wine) and quite a choice of traditional restaurants can be reached
in a few minutes by car. The nearest township is Fossombrone with an interesting
background of architecture, culture and history and pretty markets, shops,
cinema and some lovely ice-cream and coffee-shops.Urbino also renowned
because of its history and culture (birthplace of the painter RAPHAEL)
can be reached in twenty minutes just like Fano a fascinating seaside town,
holiday resort and biggest fishing harbour of the Adriatic Sea offering
all sorts of entertainment conceivable. Senegallia with its top restaurants,
its fabolous beach and the beautiful old city can be reached within15 minutes.
Ancona Airport with
daily international flights (amongst them RYAN AIR) can be reached in 40
minutes, Rimini in 40 minutes and Bologna-Forli (also RYAN-AIR and various
economy airlines) is 90 minutes away.
